Description

BEATLES WHITE ALBUM, UK MONO FIRST PRESS, LOW NUMBER 185,357, STUNNING WIDE SPINE!

INCLUDES PHOTOS, POSTER AND BLACK INNERS.

CONDITION AS FOLLOWS:

SLEEVE

Sleeve is in excellent condition, it has a STUNNING UNCRUSHED WIDE SPINE (please see photos), only slight yellowing. Obviously being a first press it is a top opening Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold cover, barely a crease on it, top openings are in very good condition, only slight wear, no fraying at all. The only blemish of note is a slight 2mm mark underneath the laminate on the front cover and in the same place on the inside, however the laminate is fully intact. This is a really good, bright, glossy crease free sleeve, clearly embossed titling, clearly printed number and the best of all is the absolutely stunning wide spine! Has to be seen to be believed! Dont forget the nice low number too (No 185,357)

POSTER

"Lipstick Kiss" version, no pinholes or sellotape marks, has only slight yellowing in places and one minor two inch fold seperation. Nice poster.

PHOTOS

All four photos in clean, unmarked condition, no pinholes or sellotape. Please note that the Ringo photo has a slightly thinner border to it, indicating this is probably a later replacement for a lost photo. They're all good though.

INNERS

The original black, die cut inners with one hole only in each are in used condition as is often the case with these. One has a double 2" tear from the middle, but all the paper is there and it has a good repair from the inside. The other has sellotape repairs to each side seam. Otherwise they are original inners, with no paper loss at all.

RECORDS

Both records have first press matrices and early Mother/Stampers and play well.

Record one is in visually very good condition, only one or two wispy sleeve removal hairlines which do not affect play. The label is the dark green apple version, it has the "sold in the uk......"text, and "an emi recording" as well as the circled "P" next to the 1968 date.

More importantly it plays through both sides without jumping or skipping, there is background recording crackle between tracks of course and the odd "click" here and there but this is normal

Matrices XEX 709-1 XEX 710-1

Mother/Stampers  7/GMR  7/RT

Record two is in visually very good condition also, there are some scuffs and hairlines but these do not affect play. The label is again the dark green apple version, has the "sold in the uk....." text and the circled "p" next to the date. There is no "emi recording " text.

As the first record, record two plays through without jumping or skipping, just recording crackle and just a couple of louder "pops" during Rocky Raccoon.

Matrices  XEX 711-1  XEX 712-1

Mother/Stampers  1/RO  3/RD

There you have it then, a rare UK Mono release of this album (never released as Mono in the US), in overall very good condition, plays well and i think one of the star points here is that lovely wide spine! It will be packed very carefully to protect it.

I ship worldwide, the quoted shipping cost is for regular Airmail to the States but I can also send with other options such as Airsure etc, Winning bidder can request whatever.
