I have been a collector of vinyl for more than 30 years, with a collection of over 2,000 albums, the time has come to part with some of the collection. Over the coming months I will be listing some of the albums I have decided to part with here on ebay as well as on my bluesvinyl4u website, while the majority of my albums are blues related from all eras, there will be a mixed bag to chose from.

ALBUM DESCRIPTION (Scroll Down For Supersize Pictures)

With the Beatles' second British album, recorded four months after the band's first album and released on 22 November 1963!!.

The album features eight original compositions (including the first by George Harrison) and six covers, mostly of Motown and R&B hits. Most of the songs from the album were released in the United States on Meet the Beatles on 20 January 1964!.

The LP had advance orders of a half million and sold another half million by September 1965 — making it the second album to sell a million copies in the UK (the first being the South Pacific soundtrack). It stayed at the top of the charts for 21 weeks, displacing Please Please Me, so that the Beatles occupied the top spot for 51 consecutive weeks. It even reached number eleven in the "singles charts" (because at the time UK charts counted all records sold, regardless of format).

I have carefully played the album twice before listing at high volume using my mono dedicated system and am pleased to say that it plays through with absolutely no clicks, pops, skips, jumps or any groovewear interference. In fact the album plays near mint, on my system, with crystal clear mono reproduction almost through the entire album, almost silent between tracks, very rare to find on an album of this age. Obviously with an album of this age at certain amount of static / dust noise has to be allowed for but there was barely any on my playing.

THE VINYL

The vinyl is of course the heavy robust early type, and generally very clean considering this is a 47 year old vinyl, there are a few minor scuffs/needle marks but nothing at all which causes any problems with the audio which is superb as I have described.

THE COVER 

COVER

This is the original Garrod & Lofthouse laminated front flipback and is generally in great condition with no splits or tears or writing. There is a tiny amount of laminate creasing and a couple of small scuff marks on the rear, the flipbacks are in super condition with very minor colour aging. Corners have a very small amount of storage wear and the spine is straight with all the writing perfectly clear and legible.

THE LABELS 

The labels are the early press only yellow and black Parlophone while spidering can be seen they are in otherwise unmarked condition and show the album clearly hasn’t been overplayed.  Labels also feature the early press only ‘Sold In The UK...’ across and ‘The Gramophone Co...’ around them. Side to features the KT Tax Code Stamp.

THIS ALBUM WILL BE SENT IN A LARGE BOX WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS THE VINYL AND COVER WILL BE INSERTED SEPARATELY IN POLY SLEEVES AND WRAPPED WITH PLENTY OF BUBBLEWRAP FOR ADDED PROTECTION.
