Original extremely low numbered Toploader in stereo (original stereo sleeve) with INCREDIBLE LOW number and nearly within the first 10,000. All photos and original poster included.
Vinyls: Visually varying from VG to VG++. These first presses are unusually heavy, pure quality vinyl that could take a bump or two. There is a deep glossy lustre to all 4 sides. Both vinyls sit perfectly flat on the turntable. A few hairlines can be detected across all 4 sides. These do not affect the replay. And I would grade the overall replay at at least EX to EX+. This just shows the immense quality of these earliest heavy presses with high groove walls. There are NO skips, NO jumps. There is hardly ever any static crackle, this is mainly confined to the grooves between tracks. This album has a BEAUTIFUL audio quality.The winner will be delighted. The vinyls have a beautiful glossy lustre.
I have played both vinyls in FULL twice over> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! There are not any jumps or skips. There is hardly ever any background noise at all!! I played this on my Technics turntable with a Linn cartridge and through my very revealing B&W three way speakers!!! I particularly liked "While my guitar ....", which is better and has far deeper dynamics than any other version/format I have ever heard! "Revolution 1 and 9" were also two standout tracks for me.
The gatefold sleeve ("Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd.") is phenomenal with a beautiful shiny glossy laminate and without any grubby marks like most would have. The embossed "Beatles" on the front looks bright and sparkly!! Would grade EX+ if it were not for a couple of smallish underlaminate creases quite hard to spot in fact. The spine is beautiful and very straight, not worn!!! A small corner "mini bump" to the right bottom front corner. The inside gatefold looks splendid. Some inevitable onset of yellowing is present. I have never yet seen any copy which does not show this but it is actually very minimal just like the pictures show.
This album comes complete with the ORIGINAL PHOTOS!!!!! These are the hard card variety as only the very early albums did, these were later to be replaced by much thinner photo paper. These have NOT been hung!! NO holes, NO tape, NO blu-tack etc. Also comes with original FIRST POSTER!!!! This has also never been hung. NO holes and NO glue or tape!!! Not mint though as it has been handled probably to read up on the lyrics whilst listening. Photos do have a small stain near the bottom right corner.
Most of these have been used as pin-ups or carried around. NOT THIS SET!!! As good as it gets!!! This has "I love you" and the "Kiss" on it, so the very FIRST one!!! All these are in excellent condition.
The inners are the original black ones which are quite worn. I will also include some plain inner white sleeves for the vinyls.
This an excellent investment opportunity!!!
