Very rare compressed pre-George Harrison mastering Scranton pressing. A month prior to the release George Harrison listened to a test pressing of the intended US release and deemed it unacceptable because of the process Capitol used during the mastering. There were 33 masterings and all associated metal stampers were destroyed to appease Mr. Harrison. However, it later came to light that a set of 28/29 stampers slipped through the cracks at the Scranton plant and a small number were pressed with the withdrawn mastering before the hammer came down. Also, this earliest pressing has all 7 label title errors that were quickly corrected.

 The handful of copies that have been sold are far from pristine and this copy is no exception. I would grade three sides visually as VG. One side being VG minus. I did listen to this all the way through and there are no skips or really obtrusive loud clicks. I would contend that it plays better than it looks.

The cover is a correct Scranton cover #A1495828 and is typically about VG with heavy wear. This does include the original poster and picture cards. Feel free to message with any questions.
