NOTES
Up for auciton here is an ultra rare DECCA contract pressing of With The Beatles' second press with an original EMITEX inner sleeve. One of the very few early pressings that have the correct spelling for "GOT A Hold One Me..." on both cover and label (which appeared to be the common rule from third press on, which didn't come before Summer 1981).
As a big plus, record comes in an excellent vinyl condition.

A highly sought-after release, cos not many copies were pressed. It dates back to the time when Parlophone, for a limited time, appeared to be unable to fully satisfy the British (!) market regarding With The Beatles in time. In England alone, Parlophone faced 250,000 advance orders, the highest number ever at the time being (Elvis had held the record before at 200,000). Based on a bilateral contract between E.M.I. and DECCA from 1961 (1958?), vinyl pressing was partially outsourced to the competitor's record plants.

Proof of "authenticity" - criterias to distinct a With The Beatles DECCA contract pressing are:
  • NO tax code around the spindle hole on either side of the disc
  • NO tax code stamped at 12 o’c position
  • NO stamper code at 3 o'c position, cos DECCA, contrary to Parlophone, did NOT make use of the "Buckingham stamper codes" (one thru three letters)
  • Mother plate number at 9 o'c position (as with Parlophone pressings)
  • Very light ridge that runs around approximately 0.02" out from the spindle hole
  • Famous "DECCA" groove, which is apx. 0.12" out from the spindle hole (the generally known characteristic)
  • Matrices -7N / -7N (like the "regular" Parlophone second press)
All of the criteria above mentioned are met. To our knowledge, failing on a single one indicates a fake (or you simply hold a "regular" Parlophone press in your hands).

This beautiful lady is 50 years old now, almost to the day! If you still miss this record, win this auction, treat her nice, and she makes it a hundred...

Please see grading details for a more elaborate description of the record's condition.

IMPORTANT NOTE for GERMAN BIDDERS: Please constact us before bidding, for otherwise we will remove your bid without prior notice. This is in view of constantly recurring problems, often caused by language. It's NOT an offense. Collectors want harmony and consensus, not trouble.

1st Class Packaging

We are Collectors, hence every record is stored (and will be sent) in a sophisticated way. Many experienced collectors were thrilled by our unique, bullet-proof "packing technicque". Original cover, inner sleeve(s), prospective inserts, and/or whatever may come across, are stored separately. The vinyl sits in a neutral antistatic, padded inner sleeve, which is housed in a stable, neutral cardboard cover. Package is protected by one (or more) transparent plastic sleeves. Finally, all items are being wrapped with thick bubble foil and go to a professional record mailer, which is then being properly sealed with water-resistant tape.

For packaging, we use brand-new material & items only. Whatever eBay MIGHT display: INSURED, SIGNED-IN, TRACKED SHIPPING IS FREE. ANY DESTINATION ON THIS PLANET.
(PLEASE NOTE that pictured record is an EXAMPLE only. It is NOT the item up for auction. Thank you.)
