SEE MY FEATURED EBAY LISTING HERE DETAILING THESE CUSTOM PRESSINGS IN DETAIL! THE TRUTH! THE FACTS!

This is a VERY RARE PYE press of BEATLES Hey Jude.

(I've never seen a PYE press before, in 20 years shuffling vinyl!)

HEY JUDE exists as the regular EMI press, the not so rare but high £150 rated PHILIPS (see my other listings for a cheapo one), the VERY RARE CBS,(see my other listings for a nice copy) the VERY RARE PYE (offered here) and the rare DECCA (one was on ebay recently).

These custom presses, done for many other artists were as a result of high demand & EMI (+ other companies) had to sub-contract to fill orders. Maybe only 100 or maybe as many as 5000 made, I hope my listings will get more details known!

There is a small clue to when in the run the various custom presses were made. Having all 3 here it's easy to see. There is a small number stamped (by EMI) at approx the 9 o'clock position (with the matrix number being at 6 o'clock). The CBS one has a "7" both sides, the PHILIPS has an "8" on the A and a "3" on the B and the PYE has a "14" both sides. This shows the PYE one was done much later than the other two, explaining why it's not been seen before, possibly being made after it's final week at no.1 when the demand was waning. Looking at the two EMI presses I have in stock, one has "8" on the A and "7" on the B, the other has a "1" and a "4" making the PYE press look VERY late indeed!

This PYE copy is in NEAR MINT condition.
