This is the mega rare earliest version of the black/yellow "please please me" album.As everyone knows the first black/yellow which is known as the 3rd press (after the 2 gold labels) omits the "recording first published 1963" and "sold in uk" text BUT this copy came out BEFORE the above mentioned 3rd press as on the side 2 label it still has the small 33 1/3 to the left of the center hole...this was left on after the gold label album but was QUICKLY WITHDRAWN as they realised the mistake they had made
Not only that but side 1 is a standard 3rd press label WITHOUT the small 33 1/3
SO WHAT YOU HAVE HERE IS A SUPER RARE TRANSITION LP WITH 2 DIFFERENT LABELS!!
COVER: EXCELLENT
The original laminated Ernest j day cover has no tears,stickers or writing,very nice with just a little aeging on the back
LABELS: NEAR MINT
The labels (see above for detailed description) have the "parlophone co" text are very clean with no spindle wear and just a few tiny hardly visible spindle marks
RECORD: EXCELLENT+/EXCELLENT++
The record has full gloss and shine just some marks..Nothing really serious as it looks really stunning and i guarantee you will not be dissapointed
It plays fantastic.Side 1 starts with a quiet run on and all the tracks play superb with no sound distortion and no crackles or pops and it does not stick or jumps just a few light clicks on "chains".Side 2 also plays superb with no loud crackles and is even generally quiet between most tracks
