This is a 1965 mono press of "rubber soul" in very nice condition but what makes this that extra special is that it has a NEAR MINT "ERNEST J DAY" FLIPBACK COVER!!
Cover
The original Ernest j day patents pending front laminated cover is in Near mint condition..strongly graded with no damage like tears,stickers or writing.Here is a description of all parts of this cover
Front:The front is very clean with no laminate damage and no bad creases..it really shines!!the corner tips are nice..little rubbing on the bottom opening one but this is minimal.The opening has no fethering and there is no ring wear or record indentation
Back: This is very white with no ring wear or bad ageing..lovely creamy flipbacks with just a couple of creases on them..altogether a lovely cover
Seams: The seams are superb with no splits
Spine:This is fantastic with no splits and all the text is clear and readable
Labels
The black/yellow parlophone labels which have "The gramophone.." and "sold in uk" text are superb and in Excellent condition,No damage at all and the spindle hole is completely unworn,there are just some spindle marks around the hole.Side 2 is "kt" stamped
Record
The record which is made out of VERY THICK quality wax is unwarped and in Excellent/Excellent+ condition.In daylight it looks near mint but under strong light you can see a few light hairlines..not many!!..it has full gloss and shine with no groove wear,side 1 has a couple of small scratches that is why it is lesser graded but still VERY NICE!
The record plays really well with no sound distortion and it does not stick or jump,there is tiny bits of static in places and a few light clicks but nothing that overshadows the music and will stop you enjoying this fantastic album
