This is the MEGA RARE 1967 mono press which has the Garrod & Lofthouse PATENTS PENDING WIDE SPINE cover!!
Cover
The original Garrod & lofthouse PATENTS PENDING WIDE SPINE laminated cover is in Excellent condition..strongly graded with no tears, stickers or writing. Here is a description of all parts of this cover
Front:The front is very clean with no ring wear. The laminate shines with the colours being clear and strong, there is no laminate lifting at all.The corner tips are nice and square apart from a little rubbing on the top left one.No fethering on the opening, regarding creases there are no creases and just 1 or 2 small "half moon" creases on the middle of the cover and just the odd very light and small edge crease
Back: This is also nice,no ring wear or laminate damage, there are a few edge creases and some on the middle of the cover
Inside Gatefold: Very clean with no colour fading, there is just a tiny bit of wear on the flipback on the left hand side
Seams: These have no splits and are very nice
Spine:The WIDE SPINE cover is very nice with all the text being clear and readable with no splits and just a tiny bit of wear on the top of the spine before you get to the text.It is ever so slightly flattened which is evident when you look at the cover from the front but altogether very nice and solid
Cut-outs
These are complete and in Near mint condition
Original "fool" inner
The red/white inner is in Very good condition with a split on bottom and side, some tape on 1 side, few brown spots and some tiny tears on the opening
Labels
The black/yellow parlophone labels which have "The gramophone.." and "sold in uk" text are superb and in Excellent++ condition,No damage at all and the spindle hole is completely unworn, just a few very tiny and hardly noticeable spindle marks!!!!.Side 2 is "kt" stamped
Record
The record is very clean with full gloss and no groove wear,it is unwarped and looks in fantastic condition,i grade a really nice Excellent.under very strong light you can see hairline marks but no deep fingernail scratches. It plays really well with crystal clear music and no sound distortion..no harmful bad loud crackles that would stop you enjoying the record, infact a lot of it plays mint there are just a few light clicks and little bits of sporadic static in places..really fantastic sounding album
