BEEFEATERS - MEET YOU THERE
A lovely copy of this seldom seen and much sought after 1969 blues/prog/psych original 1st pressing, on the German label, stereo TELEFUNKEN, NT 672
The dead wax matrix numbers are :
Side 1 01509 - A/S 1
Side 2 01509 - B/S 1
The appearance of the flat, thick vinyl is excellent (EX). Gleaming vinyl with jet black lacquering and in normal daylight no obvious marks or blemishes at all. With close scrutiny and under an intense light just a few faint wispy hairlines and very, very light paper scuffs come into view on each side of the vinyl along with a slightly more obvious pencil dot mark (mid way through track 2, side 2) and a 1cm hairline (track 1, side 2) - you still have to view under a bright light to identify them - which, again, are non-feelable and surface only - indeed all of these wispy hairlines and very light scuff/dot marks appear to be purely superficial causing no detriment to the excellent stereo sound quality.
The labels are excellent plus (EX+). Beautiful 1st press red matt textured labels with no unwanted writing or marks and all text and the "TELEFUNKEN" and "SONET" logos remaining perfectly intact. The centre part of the side 2 label appears to be very slightly faded when viewed in a certain light but If it wasn't for this and the fact that a couple of very light, small spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label are just detectable under a bright light, I would grade the labels as "near mint".
The condition of the laminated outer sleeve is very good plus (VG+). This is a very fragile sleeve using thin cardboard and prone to ring wear and creasing and laminate lifting. For this copy there is a 4cm scuff mark in the middle of the bottom edge, 3cm of mild scuffing on the top edge, x6 1cm laminate creases adjacent and perpendicular to the very thin spine on the front side (x5 of which do slightly impinge upon the spine itself), and some sporadic but obvious (see photos) laminate lifting adjacent to each of the edges on both the front and reverse sides. But there is no creasing of the cardboard itself, each edge remains firm, including the spine where all text is fully intact and perfectly legible; the art work, colouring, photos and text on both the front and reverse sides remains beautifully intact (vibrant, rich and clear colours still) and despite the aforementioned relatively minor blemishes this still remains a highly presentable sleeve.
Finally, the quality of the audio is excellent (EX). Brilliant tone and clarity with some great tracks here accompanied by impressive guitar licks (listen to Alexis Korner's guitar work on Stormy Monday (with incorrect spelling of "Stormy" on very first pressing side 2 labels, which this copy is) and some great organ playing. There are no skips, jumps, or repeats and the only audible background crackle is some very mild crackle right at the very beginning of each side just before the music starts. I noticed a single mild click midway through track 2, side 1 and another mild single click part way through track 2, side 2 - these two clicks are very minor indeed and do not diminish the overall truly excellent stereo audio quality of this wonderful record, with every track making for a great listen. Blues, rock, psych...call it what you will, this is a uniquely sounding album with great music throughout and with every musician obviously being at the top of their game.
The tracks are :
Side 1 :
1. I'll meet you there
2. You changed my way of living
3. Night train
4. Now I know
Side 2 :
1. Serenade to a cuckoo
2. Stormy Monday
Comes with plain white inner sleeve though I am not sure that this is the original since it has "MADE IN ENGLAND R.S." at the bottom; also, each of the side and bottom seams is split in the middle, but... Note that I always post the record in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.
In summary a truly impressive copy of this seldom seen and increasingly sought after 1969 original German 1st press LP - a worthy addition to any serious vinyl collection and only continuing to gain in value.
If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting vinyl for almost 50 years and have amassed a huge collection covering a varied genre, but mostly of 1960's and 70's origin. Most of my records were originally bought by myself for my own collection, but during the past 30 years I have embellished my collection by buying records from a variety of sources : friends/acquaintances, car boot sales, auctions, and even through putting up a "vinyl wanted" notice in my wife's shop! I am now retired and take great delight in being able to spend more time scouring the country and attending boot sales and auctions in the hope of unearthing more vinyl gems...I am 64 years of age now and am still discovering bands and music of the 60's and 70's that I have never come across before. Wonderful! Richard
My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I'll sort out the problem. I offer a "no quibble" refund policy.
On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl thick cardboard "crucifix" style mailer along with at least two thick cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in separating the record from the outer sleeve in order to help prevent sleeve damage in transit and I always insert the vinyl, outer sleeve and inner into a clear plastic sleeve, thus adding further protection.
For this item postage & packaging will be UK £4.00, Royal Mail 1st class signed for; continental Europe £9 and Rest of the World £13, Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.
I DO discount post & packaging costs for multiple purchases. I do NOT profit from postage.
Good luck with your bidding!
NOTE : My vinyl descriptions comply with the official Record Collector vinyl grading guidelines :
