Description
This is the European Philips release of the David Oistrakh/Lev Oberin recording of the complete Beethoven Violin/Piano Sonatas. This is the boxed, four record stereo issue, Philips 835245-48, released in the US, in my memory, in the late '60s/early'70s. Oistrakh and Oberin played together often--Oberin was, in fact, Oistrakh's regular accompanist--and these are performances of fine ensemble. The recordings show their superb piano/violin balance. And these are fully romantic readings. This is legendary set and these European Philips discs are of high quality. The records are visually NM/MINT. Spot playing shows them to be quiet and full sounding. The box is EXC with spine fading. The booklet is MINT.
