The last copy to sell of this rare album did so on eBay last July for around £700.00 so grab yourselves a real bargain!!

  ORIGINAL UK 1st PRESSING 11 TRACK VINYL LP

Much sought after private press featuring covers of songs by Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny, Ewan McColl and Richard Thompson. This is one of the 100 copies which were sold at the time. In total 155 copies of this album are known to exist. The Beggar's Hill website gives more information about this:
"The album was released in 1976 as a private pressing of 500 copies and was for sale for £2.60, which was just a little below the price in those days for albums bought in record shops. By late 1977, with no members of the group in the local area to promote it at gigs, the venture had quietly faded away, so I closed the business, de-registered for VAT and claimed back an income tax rebate due to the business loss. 
In 1976 there had been 500 copies of the album, of which about 100 were sold and another 15 or so given to newspapers, magazines, libraries etc. for review purposes to assist with promotion, so that left me with about 385 copies, at first ............... But by the end of 1977, I was getting married to Janice and we were buying our first house. It's probably hard to imagine, but 385 copies takes up a huge amount of space. Each box held 40 copies of the record and inner sleeve, and was about 12 inches x 12 inches x 4 inches (or 300 x 300 x 100 mm in metric), and there must have been 10 boxes of records, and then 10 more boxes of the same size for the covers. That takes up a lot of space which we did not have available in our first house. So I kept a box of records and a box of covers and took the rest to the local rubbish dump. After all, there was no chance of selling any more, was there? The group all had separate lives, careers and families, and I heard nothing more until ........."
Vinyl is NM and label features an MPCS royalty stamp.

LABELS - MINT (THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF ANY SPINDLE MARKS ANYWHERE ON THE LABELS)
SLEEVES - NM

Sealed or Mint: Only used for new or sealed records... Sealed records are assumed to be mint but, since they're sealed, I can't tell the condition for sure! It is good practice to guess the condition to be Mint. The sleeve, inner sleeve and or any inserts/posters will be as it left the factory
Excellent+: Not perfect, but darn close! Possibly a very minor scuff or hearlines and very little else can appear on the vinyl. This will most likely have occurred during packaging, or removing the record from the inner sleeve. Has been handled with extreme care. It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw should be very hard to see. The sleeve, inner sleeve and /or any inserts are likely to have minor storage wear and tear

Excellent: A very good copy with very few minor or light surface marks which may be audible but some believe this adds to the playback sound quality. The sleeve, inner sleeve and/or any inserts may possibly have signs of storage and handling wear and tear
VG+: VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that don’t affect the sound are OK. The sleeve, inner sleeve and/or any inserts will have signs or handling and storage wear and tear
VG: Light scratches, slight background noise possible. When played, a VG record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and ending. But the noise won’t overpower the music. The sleeve, inner sleeve and/or any inserts are likely to show signs of storage or handling wear and tear, often commensurate with the records age

Good: Record plays without skipping but does have surface noise. Scratches, scuffs and groove wear all possible on this condition. The sleeve, inner sleeve and/or any inserts are likely to be similar to a very good record.

Poor: Lots of surface marks and playback noise. The record/sleeve may be missing parts or have serious flaws. This will be a shelf filler only.
