Bengt Hallberg ( Epic LN 3375) 1956 14 track monaural vinyl LP ORIGINAL PRESSING

Take it on sound advice from Quincy Jones: “Bengt Hallberg? Don’t ever pass him up!” This album is your opportunity to act upon that advice…this rare and unique album seldom available for purchase features Swedish jazz pianist Bengt Hallberg, one of Sweden’s most influential jazz musicians playing selections from the 20's, 30's and 40's. Selections include “Summertime”, “Dinah”, “Frantic Blues”, “Body and Soul”, and “Sweet Sue – Just You”.

This gorgeous album is rated Near Mint. The jacket is rated VG+ (no seam splits but both right hand corners are slightly bent and the very bottom of the jacket rear has a slight stain)

Grading:

Unless otherwise noted these albums are visually inspected only, utilizing Goldmine standards.

I grade the overall condition of the vinyl conservatively and never assign a grade of Mint unless the album is completely sealed. My highest unsealed grade is Near Mint (M-). I base my grading upon what I believe my reaction would be when viewing a vintage album I just purchased for the first time.

Near Mint:  An album which is otherwise mint in every respect but may have one or two inconsequential flaws which do not impact audio quality.

Very Good Plus: Often referred to as "Excellent" or VG++ on other grading scales. An album that has been handled either infrequently or carefully with light surface wear and without any indication of degraded audio quality.

Very Good:  Used but not abused. Often referred to as VG+ on other scales. An album rated Very Good could be expected to have somewhat more moderate surface wear and perhaps even occasional surface noise when played.

I will not offer for sale any album graded less than VG nor any album which I believe may have audible “clicks” or “scratches”. I clean these albums before shipping but as these albums are 40-50 years old you may want to clean them again upon receipt.

Album jackets are graded in a similar manner. Those that are clean with excellent color, high gloss and no bends, tears or separations are graded Near Mint.  Jackets with light staining, rings, or other minor defects are graded VG+ and the reason why is normally stated. Jackets with seam or spine separations or other obvious signs of general wear are graded VG.

These albums are from a collection accumulated by my late father. To the best of my knowledge, he purchased nearly every album in the collection beginning in the late fifties and ending in the mid to late sixties. The majority of this collection is graded VG+ or better thanks to his having been particular about the handling of his albums and my having stored them away from humidity in plastic containers for the past 20 years.

SHIPPING:

ALL ALBUMS ARE REMOVED FROM THEIR JACKET, ENCASED IN 100% POLYETHYLENE BAGS AND SHIPPED IN 200# TEST STURDY KRAFT BROWN CORRUGATED CARDBOARD 12' ALBUM CONTAINERS. In order to reduce domestic shipping costs I normally utilize Media Mail.  Optional Priority Mail and USPS insurance is available.

International shipping is normally handled First Class International and costs an additional $2.50 to cover packaging costs. Insurance is not available unless you desire me to ship Priority International (which is about double the cost). Tracking is also not available unless shipping Priority. To determine international shipping charges, at the bottom of the listing under “Shipping” click on “update’, then select country. Charges are country specific rather than location specific.

I'm sorry but I cannot ship to Italy due to insurmountable problems.

I cannot be held responsible for any damage to/loss of any uninsured album incurred during shipping.

I want everyone to be pleased with the album they have purchased and will accept the return of any album that is mutually agreed upon as not acceptable as graded for full refund.
