Up for bids is an original mono Jazz LP by Bennie Green called "Soul Stirrin'". Blue Note Records. BLP 1599. 1958.
ORIGINAL DEEP GROOVE 1ST PRESSING!
"BLUE NOTE RECORDS • 47 WEST 63rd • NYC" ADDRESS ON BOTH LABELS!
Both sides' Trail-Off's have stamped "RVG"!
Both sides' Trail-Off's also have the plastylite ear and "9 M" etching!
No "?" SYMBOL AT THE BOTTOM OF LABELS!
Front of cover is laminated.
"43 West 61st St., New York 23" ADDRESS, BOTTOM-CENTER, ON BACK OF COVER.
Comes with [possibly] original plain white inner sleeve in VG condition.
NOTE: The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
Cover is in VG Minus condition. Front looks pretty good. Back of cover has some wear and browning by the edges. Bottom has a 5 1/2" split at the opening and lots of wear where it's intact. Back of cover also has a small piece of insignificant cover art torn off in one corner, and some minor writing towards the top. Spine is okay with some checking and a small tear starting on the center. Cover has a slight curve to it. All in all, not the worst I have seen.
I would rate the record’s condition as Good. Has some scratches and wear that sonically affect play at times. Most wear is towards the end of each side. Labels look pretty nice (scanner may have lightened them a little; the blue's are darker) with some wear by the Side 2 spindle hole. Overall, record still sounds pretty good on my player! The classic Blue Note sound is maintained. GOD BLESS BLUE NOTE & VAN GELDER!
