BENNY GREEN--SOUL STIRRIN'--BLUE NOTE 47 W. 63RD ST NYC LABEL RVG STAMP EAR VERY RARE!!!
The vinyl is as follows: G (Side One), VG to VG+ (Side Two). PLEASE NOTE: Side One has a couple of major scratches, especially on cut 2, which makes this particular track go click-click throughout. But there is good news: Side Two is in better condition--I would grade it as between VG and VG+, with no major marks, but a few surface ones you cannot hear. Glossy cover is in VG condition as there is a 6" split at the center of the bottom seam. Name on back cover. RVG is stamped in the dead wax of each side as is "the Ear." This Blue Note Deep Groove album from 1958 is hard to find in any condition.
This is the only Blue Note album that features Gene Ammons (here identified just as "Jug" and the excellent Billy Root on tenor sax, also). In addition to Green's trombone, the remainder of the personnel is Sonny Clark, piano, Ike Isaacs, bass and Elvin Jones on drums. That's quite a rhythm section!
