Ultra Rare-BENONI FLUTE QUINTET-S Africa-HMV-EXC-ETHNIC
Offered for your consideration on this auction is this Scarce South African 78rpm pressing of tracks by the BENONI FLUTE QUINTET.
I have never seen another pressing of this fantastic group, and I guarantee it will be a very long time before we see another pressing of this band again.
This music is very typical of the traditional Xhosa music, the beat and Rhythm is quite different to the other African music.
I do recommend that bids are placed early, as bidders have informed me that they have previously had difficulty placing bids in the last minute, and have subsequently lost out on the item listed.
SIDE 1: QUINTET SPECIAL.
SIDE 2: SKANDA MAYEZA.
This record was pressed on the Blue and Yellow HIS MASTER'S VOICE label in South Africa.
The pressing number is JP. 2056.
The side 1 matrix is OAS.932, and the side 2 matrix is OAS.934.
CONDITION.
Playing surfaces are in EXCELLENT Condition, with a nice gloss and no scratches.
This record plays through perfectly; there are no skips or sticks
Labels are in NEAR MINT Condition (see photos).
I am busy thinning my collection down, so I have listed many other 78 RPM 10" records, including other VERY SCARCE South African Ethnic 78's, by different artists. This is a great opportunity to possibly obtain different RARE titles.
