Description
Once there was a band in Italy called I Barritas who recorded a rockin’ Mass called La Messa dei Giovani in 1966 (thus beating the Electric Prunes and their Mass in F Minor by a couple years), composed by Marcello Giombini. What we have here is the English language version that came out in 1969 with re-recorded music, as I understand it. About which, Ken Scott says it has a “high degree of electric twang plus psychy organ, fuzz guitar (some quite loud), harpsichord, and tasteful use of pop horns and strings.” Mass for Peace came out in the U.S. on the innovative and always interesting Avant Garde label. It is housed in a gatefold with a four-page insert glued inside the cover. The cover and record are both in good condition.
Winner pays postage (in the U.S., this would be about $4 for one LP sent by Media Mail). Package insured upon request. Winners outside of the U.S. will be notified of postal fees, but an approximate cost for one LP to many countries is $14.50 by airmail.
