BERNARD SMITH & JOKERS WILD Gotta Be A Reason / 39-21-46  GROOVE 504 VG to VG-, but actually a really nice copy. Some wear on the VG to VG- labels, the name "smokey" faintly written on the A-side.   Truly rare VIRGINIA soul. issue copy.  A little crackle on the intro, exploding into pure dynamite. A highly sought after Northern soul gem from Virginia, this one is the RARE 2 sider!!! An absolute floor filler for sure, this is one you're not likely to see on here again soon... so grab it while you have the chance!  This record features an incredible and totally unique version of 39-21-46 (not credited on the label, but written by Richmond VA legend General Johnson!) In keeping with my policy of playing every record I sell,  this song has one skip in it, near the beginning, on the B side, at the line:  "You set my soul on fire. Fill.. (skip) one desire, wanting to be with you".  It may be able to be declicked. I haven't tried.  Otherwise, this record plays nice, loud and clear with just a little crackle during the spin. GOTTA BE A REASON plays great.   "If you want it, here it is, bid and get it.
