Description
Up for auction is a rare original copy of the Betty Davis funk classic "Nasty Gal" originally released in the U.S. on Island Records (ILPS 9329) in 1975.
-Guaranteed original pressing, not a reissue like most on eBay
-Original black Island labels
-Original inner sleeve w/ lyrics
-No UPC/bar code on cover
Note:
This album did not sell well upon its original release, and it was quickly remaindered. Most copies you'll find are remaindered copies that have a factory corner cut. This copy has an uncut cover, which is rare for this album.
Condition:
Cover is still in very good condition, with moderate wear. Light ring wear top and bottom middle. Seams are nice, no separations or splits, just some light rub along the edges. Corners are good, like rub. Still a nice original copy.
Grade: VG/Very Good Plus (VG+)
Vinyl is also very good, still has much of its original shine. Shows a few light, superficial hairlines and tiny marks on both sides, but nothing deep or serious--nothing that should affect the quality of playback. Labels look clean. Looks like it's been played a few times, but not mishandled or abused.
Play-Tested:
I've spot tested this record, and the sound quality is very nice, still generally clear. Does have some light pressing/surface noise on the run-in grooves, but once the music kicks in, it fades out and isn't really noticeable--certainly not distracting. Not audiophile clean, but a nice-sounding original pressing.
