Description
Bezalel & The Sabras
RARE Israeli early Garage
Up for sale is the album "Jerusalem of Gold" by The Sabras. This album is considered as one of the earliest Israeli related garage / beat / surf albums ever. Recorded and released in the US, The Sabras were a Jewish garage band featuring 3 Israeli, 1 American lead by Israeli guitar player Bezalel Yungriez.
All tunes have a melodic guitar folk instros and reverb rockers, fuzz guitar, a touch of psych & surf, and an Israeli, middle eastern feel to them, kind of like if the Ventures were from Tel-Aviv.
The Sabras were formed in N.Y, some time in the late 60's, and performed in the Catskills, and various Israeli night clubs in and around New York city.
You can find this album on Hans Pokora's "Collectors Dreams" book.
