Description
Up for auction is an uncommon signed album, The Boss of the Blues: Joe Turner Sings Kansas City Jazz. Atlanta Records, 1956. Signed by Joe Turner (1911-1985) on the front upper left corner of the album jacket. A highly influential singer, Turner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and according to songwriter Doc Pomus, “Rock and roll would have never happened without [Big Joe Turner]”. Record is in nice shape, with some moisture damage to the lower part of the album jacket with some wear and a small “cut out” on the right edge. Overall, a nice piece of blues and rock history.
