Description

BILL DeARANGO's Self-Titled "de Arango" (The de has a space before Arango on album but not in price guide or other listings on eBay) Released in MONO by EMARCY RECORDS (MG-26020) in 1954 as a 10" EP with 8 songs. DeArango was influenced by Charlie Christian and made his name with Ben Webster, as well as recording with DIZZY GILLESPIE, RED NORVO, and SARA VAUGHAN among others. He is backed by the great rhythm section of ART MARDIGAN (Drums), TEDDY KOTICK (Bass), and Johnny Williams (Piano). I'm also selling a Japanese EmArcy LP credited to De Arango & Art Mardigan "Renditions" which has these same 8 songs plus 4 more credited to drummer Mardigan.

The LP is in exceptionally clean VERY GOOD PLUS (VG++) Condition and with only a couple of very faint paper-sleeve marks which leave no undue noise. On playing, it is a SOLID VG+  with extremely light background noise (primarily the first half of Song 1/Side 1 and none on most of Side 2 which is really NM), only a very occasional pop, and the music Loud & Clear with No undue static. The labels are Blue (Scan 2).

The Cover is in superb VERY GOOD PLUS condition with Light Wear to the Front and Back, Corners generally Sharp and the Seams Entirely Intact. There is some age-browning, especially along the edges and on the back.

What you see is what you get. I take Paypal within 3 days of end of auction. Media Mail is $4 or Postal Priority
for $6 in the U.S. & and First Class OVERSEAS for $15. (Canada - $8) in a well-packed LP mailer. Tracking is included for US buyers. Insurance is buyer's choice and liability. Item is GUARANTEED SATISFACTION.
