Description
For auction is BILL HALEY and his COMETS' "Rock Around the Clock," on Decca DL 8225, MONO, 1955.
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The sound was excellent. Side A was perfect, Side B had only the slightest traces of background noise here and there. I judged this to be minor, i.e., it didn't detract from the music or listenability of the record. I just want to be complete and transparent when describing all the salient aural details on this rare record!
Visually, the vinyl is VG+ or better, with only light, superficial scuffs in a couple spots on side B. Side A is pretty nice. The record has small, dark pink PROMO labels.
The sleeve is VG+ (probably better) with no flaws of note. It's clean and bright, with solid seams and sharp corners all around.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
A rare record, in super condition. No reserve, bidding starts at $50.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
