Offered is the 1st Edition Mono Pressing of Lady In Satin, by Billie Holiday, on Columbia Six Eye Label CL 1157. The album marked her return to the Columbia Label after a 16 year absence, and is in fabulous Near Mint, investment grade condition.

This recording was her next to last release - Wikipedia calls it her "penultimate".  It has a special place not just in Billie's life work, but also in the history of recorded music.

THE VINYL - NEAR MINT

NM : This beautiful record is lightly played with minimal evidence of spindlewear (please see close up photos of the labels). Both sides of the LP surface retain all of their original gloss. 
 
Other than some light cosmetic sleevewear from the original paper inner sleeve, there are no marks on either side.
 
Bright, undamaged, Red and Black Columbia 6 Eye labels (please see photos). 
                                                     
The record shows exceptional care and handling, and the mono playback is impressive.


 


THE COVER - EXCELLENT +

EX+ :  Please see photos / laminated front is NM - the back cover was not laminated and has some age-related yellowing that is visible on the white background areas / otherwise, the cover has been exceptionally well-stored these many decades / bright, glossy front cover colors / sharp corners / no edgewear / no ringwear / all of the seams, including the spine, are intact / no writing, paper loss, stains or dirt.     



Included is the Columbia Records paper inner sleeve (please see the photos in our gallery). 


We have placed both the cover and the LP into separate, protective plastic sleeves.
