BILLY BRIODY -- Little Bitty Tears / This Is Love -- ex. rare, original 1968 (?) U.S. 45 single. Utterly fantastic and apparently completely unknown uptempo Northern Soul stomper here on the A-side "Little Bitty Tears" with irresistible turbo-charged beat, Terry Stafford-like vocals and killer falsetto answer chorus that goes through the roof. Yeehaa! This was released on the short-lived Arco label out of Los Angeles that put out several equally-obscure singles by Wes Buchanan, Gene Parrish and Sonny Villegas's excellent Garage-Fuzz "I Cry / Help Me Help You." B-side "This Is Love" is good uptempo Rock ballad in a Beatles' "If I Fell" vein. "Little Bitty Tears" just grows and grows on you each time you hear it -- who was this guy??
