This 1969 release inaugurated a new chapter in Billy Preston's career. Earlier in the decade, he'd been the jazz/R&B organ prodigy releasing albums centered on the swinging grooves of his keyboard work. In the late '60s, Preston became part of the Beatles' inner circle, recording and performing with them, and even being proposed for band membership. Famously dubbed the "fifth Beatle," he kicked off his pop-star phase with THAT'S THE WAY GOD PLANNED IT.The album was released on the Beatles' Apple label and featured guitar work from George Harrison. The rest of the session band was none too shabby, either, constituting a full-on supergroup that included Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and Ginger Baker. Preston racked up his first pop-chart success with the minor-hit title track's easy blend of gospel, soul, and pop-rock, which provided the template not only for much of the album, but for the lion's share of Preston's subsequent career.


The disc minimal use only .... No marks or wear ...... No label wear , minor spindle trace on side two label only : MINT minus condition.

The sleeve has light use .... Bright , crisp and clean ...... No edge or spine wear ..... just a little rub along disc opening : Very Near EXCELLENT condition.

The disc has very light use ...... no real 'marks' as such , just a couple of faint , small surface traces evident beneath a light ...... Bright , clean labels , light spindle use only ..... Outstanding sound quality : Graded at EXCELLENT condition .

The sleeve (small stereo in top right hand corner) has mild use ........... Bright  and clean  ...........No edge or spine wear.... a few mild , small laminate wrinkles near spine ...... Nice clean rear panel .... tight flipovers  : Graded at Near EXCELLENT condition.

All items are graded Audio / Visually , and played on a high grade system

Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I understand the requirements in the gradings of discs and sleeves , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised

I grade items ( using the UK Record Collector Grading System) beneath a light , to be sure of condition

I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as STUNNING !! RARE !! AWESOME !! , padded out with grossly long winded 'descriptions' ..... Many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and does not correspond with the actual facts , and would be laughable but for the fact it is totally misleading. I take time and care to graded items correctly , and only list quality records , with concise , accurate grading descriptions

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest !) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists 'live' ( I saw The Beatles twice and Segovia !)

I began selling professionally in 1976 , and have a wide knowledge of the items I sell (and always learning !) having bought copies of my own at time of issue , always being interested in the sleeve , label and disc variations. If you have any queries , I will do my best to answer correctly
