For Your Listening Pleasure:
THE WOODEN GLASS RECORDED LIVE featuring BILLY WOOTEN
PRESSED IN THE U.S.A.
RECORD LABEL : Original Interim Label
CATALOGUE NUMBER : NR 2546
YEAR OF RELEASE : 1972
This is an original press of this monster rarity. I have collected records for over 20 years and this is the first one of these I have ever turned up and I live 15 minutes from Indianapolis. This record does not surface. The cover is the nicest you will find. It is NM and still in the shrink. The record is VG. It does play with some noise. I have listened to this album three times and I believe its one of the best live recordings I've heard from this era. I can see how fans of Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop go nuts for it. The band just gets tighter as they go. I have included A/V samples of the whole first side as I feel its the weaker condition wise of the two. This is a loud recording and the noise is not overbearing to the full audio fidelity. We start out with 'Monkey Hips and Rice' which is the showcase for Billy. I put the most time on this one because this is the one collectors want. 'We've Only Just Begun is a beautiful ballad and an interesting take on the original. Then we get to 'Joy Ride' which I feel is where the album takes off. The guitar work is stellar and the drum beats are out of this world. Billy comes in on the vibes and puts it all to rest. I am more of a Rocker than a Jazz/Funk connoisseur so I am instantly drawn to the guitarist flamboyant style. The drumming reminds me of '80s Hip Hop beats. The album only gets better from there. Remember this is an original pressing from 1972. The deadwax has Side One, NR-25461 etched into it as well as BILLY WOOTEN and finally LB across the dial. The B-Side is the same except for NR-25462 and obviously Side Two etched as well. This is not a counterfeit, import or re-issue. This is the Real Deal
[This is the fantastic sound of Wooden Glass, featuring Billy Wooten, and let me tell you that the live, cool, rhythmic, pulsating drive of this album will get next to your mind.
Recorded live at the 19th Hole Night Club in Indianapolis these four talented musicians got it on. Wm. Roach (guitar), Emanuel Riggins (organ), Harold Cardwell (drums). Ladies and gentlemen this is the super Wooden Glass, and of course featuring my main man Mr. Billy Wooten and the vibes.
The city of Indianapolis claims Wooden Glass and Billy Wooten-------we love 'em here and we want the country and the world to know of their amazing talents.
Billy Wooten, a native of Newark, N. J. is a monster with himself---he can write, produce, Billy can even sing. Wm. Roach is from Indy, Emanuel of Cleveland, Ohio and Harold of Buffalo, N.Y. Oh! they are so good with that winsome sound. This album consists of six tunes and I guarantee you that the fellows will pour it on you by the pail full. Listen to them now, so you can say, "I heard them first." We give you now---Wooden Glass featuring Billy Wooten.

A quick note about myself: I do music. Thats it. I buy big collections from private collectors. I have a brick and morter record store. So bid with confidence. I package well and most records are mailed out same day.
Thanks, Rob

CONDITION
Vinyl = VG The record does play with background noise.
Picture Sleeve / Cover = Near Mint. A beautiful cover still in the shrink. I will ship records outside of the cover, as I always do, to avoid any damage.
Label = EX There is just a touch of wear around the spindle hole.
GRADING SYSTEM
Mint = only reserved for Sealed/Perfect Lps 10/10
Near Mint = the record may have been played once or twice on good equipment. Near Mint vinyl should sound New when dust is cleaned off and the records played with a properly aligned cartridge and good needle. A Near Mint cover should be one that either looks new or still has the shrink wrap on it. Near Mint is usually reserved for record collectors that don't mind spending premium in order to get the best quality copy of a recording. 9 out of 10
Excellent = 8 out of 10 The need for exellent has replaced what we used to call VG++. A record should have maybe one blemish such as fingernail or scuff that does not affect play. It should be veiwed as Near Mint to most collectors, but for the super picky collector such as myself it is veiwed as 8/10.
Very Good + = VG+ is a grade that I use for most lps that have been played a handful of times with care. It may have one or two scratches (should not be feelable with finger) that DO NOT affect play or some sleeve scuffs from being pulled and played. When put on your record platter a VG+ record should sound great. There should not be background noise (when properly cleaned) or pops, skips, or any other distracment from the music. You should be able to listen to a VG+ record time and time again and enjoy it. 6,7 out of 10
Very Good = Record has been played numerous times or not stored properly, such as party records that were stacked on top of each other instead of being returned to the inner sleeve. 5 out of 10
