CONDITION: VG+  background hiss but always well below music
It is a thick one sided disc the back has VICTOR embossed in big letters.

This is a studio disc /  record/ transcription used in or for the making or promotion of movie  THE BIG BROADCAST. I'm pretty certain*** it came from the personal library of Nat Finston who was the Orchestra conductor on & general Music Director for films from Paramount & MGM between 1928 & 1945. (He is also on this record)

WHATS ON  THIS DISC (some names are not in correct order & it's close but not 100% correct)
This disc Starts with Orchestra warming up "Hey Max give me your A" .Then announcer says " Ladies and  Gentlemen, here we are on stage 5  at the Paramount Studio in Hollywood. All the stars of the radio are gathered here all together in one big motion picture, The Big Broadcast.  The Paramont studio Orch is getting ready to obey the commands of  Nat Finston's baton. About ready to go Nat? (Hear Nat resond in backgrond  then music comes up) .  While the boys are rehersing lets take a look at the cast on the side line. Look there's Burns & Allen, Cab Calloway, Kate Smith, Vincent Lopez, The Mills Brothers & The Boswell Sisters. In fact they're all here but Bing Crosby. But hold steady girls he'll be here too in a minute. Boy what a cast all of your radio favorites here in one picture. And  look there are some big screen names too Stuart Erwin,  Leila Hyams & Sharon Lynn all here in one big picture. (Sound of footsteps running to the stage) Here he is ,here's Bing. And now here's the  announcement you've been waiting for. Bing Crosby has just arrived. Now I'm gonna ask him to say a few words himself . BING "Hi Sam Sorry I kept you waiting. I had to finish a little scene I was doing with  Stuart Erwin. Now I'd like to sing a song from The Big Broadcast called  Please...."  BING SINGS THE WHOLE SONG PLEASE  and then says  "Now if you'll excuse me I have to get back to the set of  The Big Broadcast. Goodbye.'

Paramount made the first of its Big Broadcast films, the first and best of them. This first one gave Bing Crosby his first role in a feature film, previously he had done guest appearances and also short subjects for Mack Sennett. Not wanting to mislead anyone about who was numero uno in this film, Paramount had him play a radio crooner named Bing Crosby.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED ABOUT 100 OLD TEST PRESSINGS & ACETATES FROM  MGM & PARAMOUNT PICTURES .
***Due to a letter I found written to Nat Finston (see 2nd picture) & that he is in the credits as conductor etc. on most of the records.
 I BELIEVE THEY BELONGED TO  NAT FINSTON WHO WAS A CONDUCTOR & GENERAL MUSIC DIRECTOR FOR FILMS  FROM PARAMOUNT &  MGM BETWEEN 1928 & 1945. I AM NOW LISTING THEM AND SOME OTHERS.

PLEASE NOTE: THE LETTER IN THE 2ND PICTURE IS NOT INCLUDED IT IS JUST TO SHOW EVIDENCE THAT THIS RECORD BELONGED TO
NAT FINSTON .
