BIRKINEH WURGA - ALKEDASHIM & HEDJALEHU GETTER - TWO GREAT ETHIOPIAN FUNK TRACKS ON AN ORIGINAL 45 IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION ON PHILIPS RECORDS WITH A PICTURE SLEEVE.

Rare original Ethiopian funk 45 on the Philps label featuring two funk tracks, the first with a heavy break. Arranged by Teshome Sissay and accompanied by The Army Band. Both tracks are exceptionally well produced for a record from this period, all parts can be clearly heard.
On the A side Alkedashim is a mid tempo driving funk track featuring a joint horns and organ melody, backed with a US funk style rhythm guitar, a heavy bassline and an exceptionally clear drum break.
On the B side Hedjalehu Getter is an uptempo funk track in which the singer and the punchy horn section respond to each other around the central melody.
Recently discovered amongst an ex-distributor's stock in Addis.
Vinyl is in exceptionally good lustrous condition, this is very unusual for an original Ethiopian 45 (graded following the Goldmine guide).
