BIRTH CONTROL BIRTH CONTROL is a German rock band known for their progressive hard-rock sound
and provocative album covers. The group was formed in Berlin from two other bands, the Earls and the Gents.
The initial members were: Bernd Koschmidder (bass), Reinhold Sobotta (organ), Rolf Gurra (saxophone and vocals),
 Fritz Groeger (vocals), Klaus Orso (guitar), Reiner Borchert (guitar), and Hugo Egon Balder (percussion).
Founded in 1968, the year of world-wide student revolts, youth protests and a search for identity,
Birth Control and many other German bands were on a quest for their own unique and relevant sound.  These experiments resulted in numerous original musical styles, which, out of foolishness,  disapproval or ignorance were pigeon-holed as "Krautrock" which is now known to refer to an era rather than  to a musical genre. Even now, forty years on, the band still tours Germany and Europe – fresh as ever.

Signed on the back by Grammy Award winning album designer, Craig Braun.
This 1970 LP is a design sample from the personal collection of art director/designer Craig Braun. Craig is also responsible
 for the design of the 1970 Rolling Stones "Sticky Fingers" album and the iconic "Licks" logo, the famous school desk
 package for Alice Cooper's "School's Out" with paper panties around the record, Led Zeppelin III with the spinning
 picture wheel and the 1973 Grammy Award winning "Tommy" with the London Symphony Orchestra boxed set.
