Description
This is a fine copy from a 1982 reissue of the second LP by Australian post-punk group the Boys Next Door (1980), released here under the group's subsequent name, the Birthday Party. Put out only in the group's native Australia, the record is a transitional one, catching them as they started moving towards their trademark experimental sound, fully documented on their next two LPs. The most forward looking tracks on the LP are its bookends, "Mr. Clarinet" and "Happy Birthday." The record also includes a revved up version of Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps' "Cat Man." The jacket has just a few flaws: a 1” split on the spine, a 1” patch of wear on the top seam that hasn’t split, and light ring wear on the front cover -- EX(+). The disc is clean, and plays with minimal surface noise -- a strong M-.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their sleeves. The sleeves have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded discs except where otherwise noted.
