BLACK CAT BONES - BARBED WIRE SANDWICH
A brilliant copy of this 1970 UK 1st press prog rock/blues gem with stunning sound quality throughout - there can't be many better!
Year/Label : UK DERAM NOVA
Label number : SDN 15
Matrix numbers : ZAL-9431.P-2W / ZAL-9432.P-1W
Stampers : 1 U / 2 B K
Rare and highly collectible 1970 UK 1st press rock gem. Gleaming, excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl (some would grade as "near mint", I am sure) retaining a gorgeous jet black sheen with both sides of the vinyl coming across as completely unmarked in normal daylight. Closer inspection under a bright light reveals just a couple of extremely wispy fine hairlines and equally faint paper scuffs - barely detectable and obviously purely superficial. Each label is near mint (NM) with all text and the iconic DERAM logo remaining perfectly intact, and completely unmarked...actually if you look really hard under a good light there may be just a single small and very, very faint spindle mark on each label but even that is debatable. Clearly this is a record that has been played very sparingly. The beautiful front -side laminated original Senol Printing non-flipback outer sleeve is in truly excellent (EX) condition with firm edges including a rigid spine with 1st press "nipped" ends, near perfectly defined right angled corners with no rubbing, no cardboard creasing, and (incredibly!) not a single scuff mark in sight. On top of all that all colours, art work, text (including the spine text), and photos remain beautifully intact with rich vibrancy and crystal clear, crisp definition. The only blemishes (each extremely minor) are a few non-obvious 1-2cm light laminate creases adjacent and perpendicular to the spine and bottom edge on the front side, and just a little very light vertical laminate lifting next to the top half of the spine. Near mint (NM) sound quality with no skips, repeats, jumps, distortion, clicks or background crackle...just the very occasional second or two of very light static - exactly the same as what you would get with a new (or almost new) record. Fantastic tone with crystal clear vocals and instrumentation and every track a great listen. Comes complete with original blue and white, poly-lined, correctly dated and excellent (EX) condition inner sleeve, with no side splits, tears, edge fraying or age discolouration - just some creasing in one corner.
Rock, prog, blues, heavy - call it what you like, this is a brilliant record - an absolute gem. And to come across a UK 1st pressing in as wonderful condition as this is a true rarity - there can't be many copies left like this. Worthy of pride of place in any vinyl collection!

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
