BLACK CAT BONES - BARBED WIRE SANDWICH

Debut and only offering from this short-lived band, now a sought after and highly collectable blues/rock gem

An overall nice condition copy of this sought after blues/rock gem but with some relatively mild blemishes : each side of the vinyl has retained much of it's original black sheen and in normal daylight the condition of each comes across as excellent, although a 1.3cm scuff line on B1 is visible. Closer scrutiny under a bright light does reveal some some wispy hairlines and paper scuffs on each side, and on side 2 there are some scuff marks/lines which are more noticeable - I have tried to capture these in one of my photos, though I had to turn on all the lights for each scuff mark to show up. The good news is that there is nothing feelable here, nothing obviously heavier than surface marks, and nothing to significantly diminish the overall impressive audio quality, making the condition of side 1 as very good plus (VG+) and side 2 as simply very good (VG).  Each label is in excellent (EX) shape - difficult to fault apart from jus ta few small and extremely light spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole.  The front-side laminated outer sleeve remains in very good (VG) condition - each edge (including the spine) remains firm with no bending or edge creasing, each edge (again including the spine) remains unscuffed and the spine text is all perfectly legible. There are two small areas of laminate lift adjacent to the spine and a number of 1-2cm laminate creases adjacent and perpendicular to the front-side edges along with just a few other sporadic laminate creases. The corners remain nicely defined right angles with minimal rubbing on each. The reverse side has some mild age discolouration and comes across as a little "grubby" but nowhere is there any unwanted writing, nasty marks or edge fraying. All artwork, colours, photos and text remain clear and nicely defined. The stereo audio quality is a solid very good (VG) - and for much of the record much better than simply "very good" : there are x3 light clicks towards the beginning of A2 followed by x2 more towards the end of the same track, and just a little mild crackle towards the beginning of A3, otherwise no skips, jumps, repeats, nasty clicks (you might come across just the very occasional and very light background click) or pops, and just some mild, non-intrusive and very occasional light background crackle. Overall the vocals are clear and each track remains very listenable with some great guitar licks on each.  Comes with original "STEREO" blue and white DECCA poly-lined inner sleeve, with no splits or tears, just some mild corner creasing, and remaining fully functional.
 A rare and sought after 1970 blues/rock gem with mild blemishes but remaining very listenable and a welcome addition to any serious vinyl collection.

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself  to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

Mint  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair  The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor  The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad  The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
