BLACK FLAG Nervous Breakdown 7" 1982 V5 Vinyl in V4 Sleeve: VG OG EP Rare Punk Rock!
One owner! From the collection of Gary X Indiana
Owner was hanging out a bit with the band at the time so may have acquired this at the (pre-Unicorn) SST office. The vinyl is RELEASE 5, while the sleeve is RELEASE 4. They probably had a few of the latter left over when the new version came in. Possibly assembled by Mugger or Henry, who knows.
COVER: VG. Outline of disc on both sides. Front has a light outline of the label in a light blue ink, somehow. Top at opening is a little battered. Small creases on or near edges, mostly at bottom. Very slight yellowing overall.
VINYL: VG. Sounds great! Music is very hot so no surface noise in it. Has been well played so pops n' crackles on run-ins, a bit less between songs and on runouts. Fair amount of superficial scuffs and scratches all over. Several lateral marks on the right side of A, an inch or so of some stain across side B, but none of that effects the music.
From Wikipedia: Nervous Breakdown is the debut EP by the American hardcore punk band Black Flag, released in January 1979 through SST Records. It was the label's first release. The recording was financed by Greg Ginn with proceeds he had earned from his mail-order ham radio electronics business, Solid State Tuners (SST). Through Spot, then an apprentice engineer whom Ginn had already known from living in Hermosa Beach, California, the band found Media Art, a studio that had recently completed construction. The recording was originally supposed to be released through Bomp! Records, but the band felt that the label was taking too long to put the record out. Eventually, the band took the master rights back, and Ginn put some more earnings from his ham radio business, located a pressing plant in the phone book, and co-founded SST Records with Black Flag bassist Chuck Dukowski, borrowing the label's name from his business.

From Discogs: SLEEVE (from VERSION 4): Red ink on white gloss paper sleeve. Artist - Raymond Pettibon's artwork on front is exactly the same as 2nd and 3rd Pressings but it is noticeably smaller on the back. The sleeve is cut straight across the top edge of the front and is straight across on the back but the back edge is about 5/16 to 3/8 of an inch lower than the front top edge. It has no bar code.
LABEL (from VERSION 5): Color is just a little lighter pink in color than the 3rd and 4th Pressings and has about the same matte finish, “Arial Font” is used for the word “Records” and the “R” and “E” in the word “Records” DO NOT touch.
