Description
I believe this to be a very rare UK vinyl record. It is a first pressing of Black Sabbath's self-titled iconic first album. I can say that because it has the coveted "A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT" on the label and on the cover the group names are in CAPITALS and there is an erroneous warning message which states "Copyright subsists in all Stereo recordings." The disc itself is in excellent condition and looks as though it has hardly been played. There are no visible scratches or marks - more or less pristine, really. The label is unmarked (again, please see photos).
The cover is also in excellent condition considering that this album is 44 years old! The corners are still in pretty good condition. I am not a record collector nor am I a record dealer. I am very much an amateur who has rediscovered an assortment of very interesting LPs which were collected in the 60's and 70's and have seen very little playing. I can therefore not really give a confident, objective grading but if pushed, I would say the disc and label are very close to being mint and the cover is VG+. Please see photos. The inner sleeve is a bit discoloured and appears original although it is plain and does not have the spiral pattern.
The disc has the code number Vertigo VO 6 847 903 VTY. The Matrix Numbers are VO 6 1Y * 1 420 12 8 and VO 6 2Y * 1 420 12 3 although the last 3 numbers on each side are a little indistinct. This is a great opportunity to own an iconic 60's album in incredible condition. I'm told that these rare Sabbath first pressing albums don't often come up for auction, particularly in such great condition as this one.

Please note, on very close inspection I have noticed that there are 5 tiny drawing pin holes in the cover of this album – 3 in the front gatefold cover and 2 in the back. They are hardly noticeable but, in the interests of fairness, I thought I had better add this information to the description. In no way do these tiny marks spoil the appearance of what is still a cover in very nice condition.
