Original early-1970s UK Vertigo “Spaceship” label pressing of Black Sabbath’s legendary self-titled debut album.
This is the collectible UK Vertigo spaceship-label issue manufactured using the desirable early 1Y//2 and 2Y//2 matrix cuts. The “420” portion of the runouts confirms UK manufacture.

SIDE 1: EX-
Side 1 remains extremely clean overall. Under strong direct lighting, a somewhat thicker surface rub and a slight hairline can be seen. These have been taken into consideration, and the side has been conservatively graded EX-.
SIDE 2: EX+
Side 2 is exceptionally clean and presents beautifully, earning a strong EX+ grade.
GATEFOLD SLEEVE: EX
The original gatefold sleeve remains in excellent collectible condition with only reasonable signs of careful handling and storage. Please examine all photographs closely for the exact cosmetic condition.
This is a beautiful UK Vertigo example of one of the most important and influential heavy-metal albums ever recorded. The spaceship-label pressing is considerably less common than the later NEMS reissues and provides an excellent opportunity to obtain an early UK-manufactured copy without the exceptionally high cost of an original Vertigo swirl pressing.
The record will be professionally packaged with the vinyl secured outside the gatefold sleeve to help prevent seam splitting during shipment.
