Description

BLACK SABBATH - The best of Black Sabbath
FD-84, Vertigo (spiral label), Japan 1971

Insanely rare Japanese collection on the legendary Vertigo swirl label. This is without a doubt the rarest Sabbath Lp, and it's also the most beautiful one. It comes in a heavy duty, textured gatefold sleeve that has a 4 page booklet inside the foldout. The pictures within are unique to this collection, I've only seen one of them before ever! It also shows a Japanese bio on the band as well as the lyrics.

The condition is magnificent....the sleeve I'd rate NEAR MINT! The edges/seams are razor sharp! There's virtually NO spine wear or edge wear. Only slightest ding to 2 corners that might as well have happened as they packed it in the box in -71....basically this looks brand new! There's some very faint spots inside the fold out that can't draw this down any further in condition. This would definately get a stone cold MINT grading from most dealers.

The record I grade EXCELLENT+! A-side is NEAR MINT! Virtually NO hairlines, just a awesome shine of a well taken care of record. B-side has a faint surface scratch in the last song that CAN NOT be heard AT ALL! B-side would grade as EX so overall I give this a EX+ grading. Playingwise it plays PERFECTLY! No distortion or hissing...virtually no unwanted noise at all, if you don't consider the music on it's own as noise!

OK, if you're a Sabbath collector here's your chance of owning one of their rarest pieces. If you're a Vertigo collector this one rates right up there with psych/prog "classics" Dr. Z, Ben and Linda Hoyle! I have another copy which is only a VG++ copy that I bought for almost £300 and I went away HAPPY! I offer you now this much nicer Lp at a very reasonable reserve for a record this rare!

Song titles are:
Sweet leaf
Evil woman
Fairies wear boots
Wicked world
Black sabbath
Children of the grave
In to the void (sic!)
Paranoid
