Description

An original Black Sabbath album purchased by me in 1971.  It is a rare 1st issue by Vertigo records under catalogue number 6360050 and has the black label with the silver paint.

I do not pretend to be an expert in records, but I gather that the first editions of Master of Reality came in an 'envelope sleeve' containing a poster of the band, and with the album's title embossed in black lettering, visible in relief which changed in later editions which lacked the embossed printing. This was also the first Black Sabbath sleeve on which the lyrics were reproduced on the back of the sleeve. The labels of the album were different, as Side A featured the infamous swirl label, whilst Side B had the information label which was black with white writing instead of white with black writing. Apparently, this variant of the Vertigo label was never to be used again. 
It comes complete with the the swirled inner sleeve and poster. The record is in excellent condition but the cover has a couple of scuff marks as shown in the photographs.
