Description
This is a Vertigo UK 1st pressing which looks and sounds superb and is complete with the original and genuine UK 1st press poster.
Please note that this is the true, original, genuine poster. It is NOT from a recent re-issue or a non-UK release, neither is it a reproduction or copy. It is the genuine 1st press Vertigo poster, printed in the UK in 1971 - it has six panels and is made from a fairly heavy, matt paper which measures 18" by 27" (inches).
The vinyl has the following 1st press matrix numbers:
Side 1: 6360050 1Y//1
Side 2: 6360050 2Y//1
Detailed description
Vinyl: The vinyl looks great and has retained its original high sheen. It has clearly been well cared-for. In normal daylight it looks superb with hardly a mark to be seen and even under bright spotlights, I could see just fine, whispy hairlines, sleeve-removal lines, and a couple of very fine marks, but there is nothing significant anywhere. I have played the entire record and it sounds fantastic with almost nothing to report. This is a forty-four year old record and I was listening intently, through headphones on a record player that itself must be 60+ years old and thus I know it plays and sounds as it’s should trust me I’m Black Sabbath fan myself and know how these songs sound.
I think it would be hard to find one which sounds much better than this.
Labels: Both labels look great with no damage, writing, stickers etc, just spindle trails and some minor marks.
Box This is the original 1st press embossed box with the band name in dark purple writing. It is really nice and clean with no major damage, writing, splits, tears or stickers etc and just light signs of use, nothing that couldn’t be 100% restored if you’re a purists like so many collectors are.
but there is nothing prominent anywhere. Please look at the photos to get a good idea of the condition.
The edges and spines have some minor creases and some wear to the corners, but nothing major. Please see the photos.
Poster: The original poster has six panels and is made from fairly heavy, matt paper. It measures 18" by 27" (inches). It has never been displayed and has no tears, splits or damage and minimal signs of handling. It looks like it has hardly ever been out of the cover. It is rare to find the original 1st press poster as nice as this.
