Description

On offer is a copy of Black Sabbath's second album Paranoid, which is widely regarded as one of the most influential Heavy Metal albums of all time. In 2003, it ranked no.130 on Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums of all time. This copy has the large vertigo swirl and carries First Press stamps in the dead wax.

Vinyl condition: The vinyl looks excellent, having retained its original gloss. The are a number of whispy surface scratches and the B side has a couple of heavier scratches at the beginning of the first track, but these have no noticeable effect on playback.

Playback (via headphones): Some very light surface crackle can be heard in the quieter sections, but otherwise this is a great sounding record, with no sticking or jumping.

Labels: Both labels are free from writing and stickers/residue. The swirl A side has a few light stains, but the B side is clean and bright. Both do have numerous spindle marks (the spindle hole is good).

Outer sleeve condition: The non-laminated gatefold sleeve has lasted very well. Unfortunately, there is slight damage to the front where someone has clumsily removed a small sticker (see pic). Otherwise, there are only a few light creases and corner/edge scuffing is light. Inside is in excellent condition. The spine has not been crushed.

Inner sleeve condition: The poly-lined inner swirl sleeve shows age, but is clean. It has some corner creasing and a small tear on the inner edge of the reverse side (this can be seen in the pic), but this is a pretty good sleeve.

Notwithstanding the sticker damage to the outer sleeve, all in all this is a pretty good copy of a very collectable album.
