Description
Artist: Black Sabbath
Title: Paranoid
Details: - This is part of my Personal Collection which I have spent many years acquiring and I am gradually selling. On offer here is the rare Original UK 1st Issue of `Paranoid` by `Black Sabbath` on the Collectible Vertigo Swirl Label in Great Condition - Run out/Matrix Machine Etched side 1- 6360 011 1Y//1 side 2 6360 011 2Y//2
Rarity:- What makes this so rare is the fact that it was the first ever UK issue and was withdrawn due to the bands manager selling out their contract - meaning his management credits `Jim Simpson Big Bear` had to be removed from the sleeve, so only the first pressing had this credit on. Original UK Vertigo Swirls have always attracted collectors and the market seems to show no signs of abating, this like many releases had a very limited pressing so will gain in value.
Label: Vertigo
Catalogue No: 6360 700
Year: 1972
Country: UK
Vinyl: (EX) `Thicker Vinyl` Pressing, Looks `Superb` under standard lighting - Under Bright Halogen Spotlights I can see some sleeve removal scuffs and light hairlines nothing feelable - Comes with Vertigo Swirl Inner Sleeve, plays great with that thundering bass you find on these early pressings, has the odd light dust crackle but no sticks, jumps or bad scratches - great copy Sleeve: (VG++) Original 1st Issue matt finish Gatefold sleeve with `Management Jim Simpson Big Bear, Birmingham` credit, Very prone to wear due to poor matt finish, however this copy is still very respectable, ring wear just starting to show on front, some Spine and edgewear (please see photos for full overview) a great find for this very rare sleeve. Labels: Clean 1st Issue Vertigo Spiral Labels - just 1 or 2 visible spindle lines Post/Packing: UK - £5.50, Europe - £8.50, World £11.50 * buy multiple items and save on postageI use professionally made packers with card stiffeners & record removed from album cover
I use lots of photos to show as accurately as possible what you are getting (also I dont cut the corners of the record sleeve off the picture!!)
Gradings: I use the standard UK gradings as set out in Record Collector Magazine below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Near Mint, EX+, VG+ etc are acceptable additions to help `fine tune` descriptions for the buyer
