Description
Up for grabs here is a truly stunning copy of Black Sabbath's legendary and classic Paranoid album. This is commonly known as the 2nd press with the far more attractive laminated sleeve and small swirl on the label (1st presses had a rather less atractive matt sleeve and larger swirl on the label). Released on the Vertigo Swirl label in 1970 the catalogue number is 6360 011. This is by far the best copy I've seen or owned.
Vinyl is virtually flawless save for one 6mm long scratch on Side 2 track 2,(Hand Of Doom). The scratch is highlighted in picture No 10 if you look below (many sellers would choose not to I'm sure). It only causes 2 ticks and certainly doesn't force the needle to skip. I'm just being honest as I always am. This mark runs WITH the groove and NOT across several grooves. Again,please refer to picture 10. That aside,the album looks and plays just about perfectly. An amazing copy for its 44 years! I can confidently grade the vinyl as being in Excellent plus condition.
The labels themselves are just about perfect,with no spindlewear evident. This album certainly hasn't been played much. Only a handful of spins I would guess.
The polylined Vertigo inner sleeve is in excellent shape too. Completely intact with no writings.
The laminated sleeve too,as you can see by the photos,is again in excellent shape,again with no writings or doodles. There's the unavoidable edge creasing common with all copies of this sleeve I've seen. Spine text is clearly readable.Again,this is one of the nicest copies of the laminated sleeve I've seen and graded as being in Excellent condition.
I haven't given details of the all important matrix etchings as they are clearly shown in the pictures provided. However,should you have any questions then please feel free to ask.it's no hassle.
RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM MINT :The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed be Mint. EXCELLENT :The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD :The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. I may use a + or a - to emphasise a grading which may be inbetween a grade. I will never use a mint grading for a 2nd hand/used record for instance. Mint- will be the very highest grade.
