BLACK SABBATH: BLACK SABBATH 1971 UK PRESSING ON VERTIGO Cat No. VO 6, 847 903 VTY
Early (1971) pressing with the smaller swirl and "VERTIGO" lettering above the spindle hole on the side 2 label.
With a genuine, not repro swirl inner bag which, though it may not be the correct one for this release, is probably worth £10 - £15 on its own.
You could pay a lot more for a copy which doesn't play nearly as well as this one. The price is low mostly due to the blemish on the front of the gatefold sleeve. CONDITION OF VINYL The vinyl has retained much of its original lustre and although it has some lines and marks it certainly hasn't been subject to heavy play over the years. Labels are clean with some minor spindle marks. Playback is really nice with no skips or sticking, and minimal surface noise.
Visual grade is VG to VG+, but play-grade is EX.
CONDITION OF SLEEVE You will see from the close-up photos that there is a price (£4.50!) written in pen on the front of the sleeve. It is possible this might be removed with some patience and the correct materials, but I'll leave it to the buyer to decide whether to attempt this. Otherwise it is in pretty nice shape, with some light general wear at the edges and spine. There also some very small white "nicks" in the black surface on the inside of the gatefold.
The poly-lined swirl inner sleeve has some writing along the top edge on one side.
Overall sleeve grade is VG-.
