BLACK SABBATH 'VOL 4'  1972 LP.

First press LP pressed in England and released on Vertigo 6360 071.

NB: The booklet that was originally attached to the inside of the gatefold sleeve is missing.

There are a few spider lines around the spindle holes so has had a few plays.

Mainly play grades as EX but is VG is places.

All passages play clearly and brightly. There are no sticks, skips or jumps, nor is there any evidence of groovewear.

However there is surface noise in the run in/out areas and between some tracks (a bit more noticeable between tracks 2 & 3/4 & 5 on side 2) but this isn't overly loud.

On side 1 there is a quiet muffled click in 'Changes' that repeats 4 times, there is a similar 'click' in 'Snowblind' on side 2. 'FX' on side 1 has some light background crackle in places.

When tilted under normal lighting conditions both sides have just a couple of visible marks which are light and ~1cm. long.

When tilted under halogen lights there are a few light marks visible on both sides.

Unlaminated gatefold sleeve grades as VG+.

A clean, solid sleeve with just a little light edge wear, however there a few surface score marks in the bottom right corner of the rear of the sleeve (see photo). The spine text is easily readable.

As already stated the booklet is missing with only a light, partial residue mark to show where it was attached.

Plain white inner grades as EX.

I dispatch records in brand new, bought in mailers designed for the process. Before placing in the mailer I take LPs out of the sleeve place both in a polysleeve and between two card stiffeners and if there is a picture sleeve I place the LP in a plain sleeve to prevent knifing of the picture sleeve. [all this costs £0.80/single LP].

I USE RECORD COLLECTOR GRADINGS AND USE A +/- WHERE I FEEL THAT IT'S APPROPRIATE.

(M) MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be mint.

(EX) EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of being played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing.

(VG) VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

(G) GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

(F) FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

(P) POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

(B) BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.  

I normally ship within 1/2 working days of receipt of payment.
