Why is this so rare?
Black Sabbath's 1st LP (Black Sabbath) did not sell many copies outside of the UK because they were virtually unheard of internationally at the time. Vertigo therefore only produced a handful of overseas pressings to meet the limited demand for this LP. This copy was pressed in Singapore to meet demand from the very small Asian market. Apparently, the LP sold very few copies as might be expected. I have never seen one of these pressings anywhere else.
It comes in a laminated gatefold cover with much paler colours than the UK release. The vertigo logo is white rather than pink on the front cover. The inner gatefold has the inverted cross on the right hand side with white text and the same 'Osborne' rather than 'Osbourne' error that appeared in 1st UK pressings. The unique Singapore Vertigo labels have small swirls on each side rather than a large swirl on Side A. The vinyl is a thick heavy pressing.
Cover: Laminated front/rear and unlaminated inside. Excellent condition. No writings/doodles or seam splits. Light wear to spine/corners.
Labels: Excellent+.
Vinyl: Very Good+. Light feathering and one or two light scratches only. Not played for over 25 years - would benefit from a light clean.

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.
Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc
Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
