Description
BLACK SABBATH Vol 4 LP Vertigo Swirl/Spiral label RARE!
Classic Black Sabbath album released in 1972 on the legendary Vertigo label and in very good condition!
I try to be as honest with my grading of vinyl as possible and would never offer albums or singles that were anything less than in good condition (using the Record Collector Magazine Grading System as my guide). I clean (if required) and then play all the albums and singles I offer on e-bay before listing them.
All albums and 12" singles are sent out in stong card mailers with stiffners.
Record Collector Magazine Grading System:
MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
Format: Vinyl LP
Record Label: Vertigo
Catalogue No: 6360 071
Country: UK
Year: 1972
Condition of vinyl: In excellent condition with no deterioration in sound quality evident despite some very minor surface marks and some very minor surface noise in the quieter moments. Plays perfectly.
Condition of label: In excellent condition with only minor spindle wear evident.
Matrix numbers: Early press 1#1 and 2#1 (PORKY & PERKO on the run-out grooves)
Condition of cover: I must admit this copy is rather let down by the cover which is OK but not brilliant by any standards. Though having said that it is the outer sleeve only that is letting it down as the colour booklet (still securely stuck in) is in excellent condition and the original Vertigo inner sleeve is in very good condition. Also, there is a red sticker on the back of the cover which I was not brave enough to try to remove!
All this said, it is still a very collectable item and if you have an excellent cover already, even better!
Please check out the many pictures I have provided below.
