This is the rare UK 1st Press of 'Vol 4' by Black Sabbath. This 1st press is complete with the Howards Printers earliest heavy card gatefold sleeve with the 'VO PRICE CODE' text printed on the rear and the inner booklet is still completely intact and attached. The vinyl has the original Vertigo label and the earliest 1/1 matrix ending.
The record is in Very Good condition. The vinyl has a stunning high gloss with each side having a couple of small marks and a number of hairlines. On playing the sound is rich, bold and vibrant. There is some noise and a click on a mark but it is still quite clear. The swirl Vertigo label is sensational. The white is crisp and bright, the black is bold and the text is sharp. There is just the slightest spindle wear.
The 1st press Howards Printers gatefold sleeve is in Very Good condition. The black is bold, the white is bright and the orange is vivid. The inside booklet is completely intact and very bright and clean. The front cover has light wear and some edge wear. The spine is firm and the whole cover still feels very solid.
