THIS IS A UK 1970 FIRST PRESS ISSUE OF THE BLACK SABBATH DEBUT ALBUM "BLACK SABBATH" ON THE VERTIGO SWIRL LABEL VO 6
THIS IS A RARE ISSUE BECAUSE IT HAS THE "OSSIE OSBORNE" MISS CREDIT ON THE COVER..INCORRECT SPELLING OFF COURSE.ALSO LARGE SWIRL ON THE SIDE 2 LABEL..LATER ISSUES HAD A SMALL SWIRL
Dead wax info (inc mothers/stampers) is as follows:
side A:V O 6 1Y*1
side B:V O 6 2Y*1
Record (labels):Near mint
Very clean with no damage around the hole and no big noticeable spider marks.large swirl on side b label
Record (Visual):Excellent(strongly graded)
The record is very strongly graded.it lies flat on the turntable with no warp.with a jet black shine,under very strong light you can see just some light marks (it is not covered in marks)..no deep fingernail scratches
Record (Audio)
The album plays really well with just some light static crackle in places especially in quieter parts.Apart from this the sound is great,it does not stick or jump and there are no pops.astounding debut album
"Vertigo swirl" inner sleeve: Very good
The inner has vo 6 written in top corner,tiny tear on the hole and just general creasing
Cover: Excellent++
The gatefold cover is very nice with no stickers,writing or ring wear.It is the first press "matt" cover with the upside down cross and warning info on the inside.This also has the rare misspelling "ossie osborne" also which makes it super rare!!.
The outside of the cover is clean with just rubbing on the edges,the back stated "vo 6" then "847 903 VTY" under it in the top right corner.The inside is also clean with just a little bit of wear which can be seen in the scans
The spine is very nice with the red text being readable,there is just some rubbing on the bottom edge..no splits..
