Black Sun Ensemble

Original US LP released on Pyknotik Records in 1985.

Black Sun Ensemble is an Arizona, USA based psychedelic rock band, led by Jesus Acedo and most active during the 1980s. Black Sun Ensemble can be seen as an important precursor to the current psychedelic rock revival indicated by the New Weird America movement and the popularity of styles such as freak folk, psych folk and The Jewelled Antler Collective.

Black Sun Ensemble is a 1985 psychedelic rock recording by the Black Sun Ensemble. Originally issued privately. Byron Coley writes in the liner notes to the Camera Obscure reissue that "It is difficult to think of a band that has ever produced psychedelic music that sounded even remotely like the original Black Sun's." It was symptomatic of the renewed interest in 1960s psychedelia evidenced by the Paisley Underground and 1980s garage rock revival bands.
