Gangsta rap fans are being spoilt rotten by Sic Records right now. The label has secured rights to reissues of a slew of cult classic gangsta rap albums from the American South. Most are from the mid-nineties and this one from Blackout is no different. Upon release in 1995 it had his native Memphis on lockdown and could be heard bumping from speakers on sidewalks and cars all over the city. Of all his four albums hit was the most enduring - it's menacing and unsettling, haunting and with a sense of paranoia that still pervades today's 24/7 surveillance society. The flows are rich, the production on point, the results compelling.
